This is a case study involving traffic infringements that were fully discharged.
Our client had outstanding penalty enforcement warrants to the value of $26,619.10. The warrants included toll road infringements and traffic camera office and parking fines which had accumulated over a period of 4 years. Many of the infringements had been incurred by the other people driving the client’s vehicle. Our client had made many attempts to try and nominate the drivers so the fines could be placed under their names but had been unsuccessful.
Sophie Stafford represented the client at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
We constructed a detailed chronology which thoroughly showed the many attempts the client had made to try and deal with the infringements. Character reference letters were also provided to the court which set out the client’s personal and financial circumstances. We submitted that a full discharge of all the outstanding infringements was warranted, and this was accepted by the court.
This was a very successful result, with all $26,619 from multiple traffic infringements fully discharged and with no further action required.
